Ever since he pick up his first basketball he knew for sure he was going to make it to the NBA. Everyday of the summer and all during the school year he would trian. What is a Monster?

A monster doesn't always live under a bed
A monster doesn't always eat little kids heads
A monster doesn't always have to be green
A monster doesn't have to be huge and look viciously mean
A monster doesn't have to be eerie and scary
A monster doesn't have to be tough and hairy
So what is a monster you're probably thinking
What makes you so afraid that you can’t stop blinking
A monster could be your imagination, what we see, what we do
A monster could be a demon that constantly lives inside you
When you lay down at night and close your eyes
And all you can think about is that monster by your side
Don’t be afraid to go to sleep
Its just a bad dream, go count some sheep
Whos to say if a monster is good or if a monster is bad
If you only think about monsters you’ve gone totally mad
Dont be afraid of monsters or if they can turn you into someone dead
Dont be afraid of monsters because they're all trapped in your head

Moody by Leo M

The more pages turned
The less anxious I do feel
This book is just wow

What did I just read
I just feel disappointment
That was terrible

I just returned it
The ending was just so bad
I am just so sad

How a teenager is made by Paige Goldstein

you take a student
create some stress
give them no freedoms
respect them even less
have high expectations
as you train them for success
control their lives
each and every step
slowly they regress
they’ll walk in a trance
puppets on a string
and the strings are in your hands
the schedule presented
coaches yelling and screaming
sports stresses only add to the overall messes
so that’s too many hours
spent in the system
and that’s not all yet
after it’s dance, scouts, religious school and work
finally at home
these kids get to relax
never mind you forgot
its homework for english and math
then college applications
chores have to wait for later
how about friends?
or enjoying some music?
maybe some TV?
to help them not lose it
maybe a nap?
but time is not to be wasted
not hours or minutes
and tomorrow?
it’s the same routine again
the alarm clock ringing
if this continues
where their opinions are inferior
and they are over worked with no room to lurk
slowly they’ll grow furious
make them unsure of their future
they tell us we’re only children, we’ve got no say
but in one year, it’ll finally be time to part our own ways
so  lay off the students
they’re working harder than ever
let them be their own person and that should relieve some of these pressures

A Poem For the Hopeless Romantics Like Me by Leah Gutman

When I’m around you, I get the
most inexplicable feeling,
It’s almost endearing,
But it’s more than that, and I don’t know in which direction it’s steering.

But I can tell you what I can explain, in the best way I can:

You are a miracle,
With a picture perfect personality,
That can go high and low,

And I can’t believe that if sand were to go upwards,
Or hands to go backwards,
You wouldn’t be here with me anymore,
And we’d both be waiting for a future, with more in store.

When our hands grab for each other,
I feel as if the lines and creases of my palms are suddenly filled with cement,
Because your aura makes me want to stay grounded with you and stay in one place,
No matter how many drills or bulldozers try to break their embrace.

I want to stay grounded to you,
And watch the sky change from sparkles to warm colors,
That caress my body, and fill my soul with warmth.

To me, you’re the smell of hand sanitizer on my hands after lunch,
When I’m in class holding my head daydreaming,
Because you are clean, caring,
And no matter what your smell is always under my nose, and sticks to my mind,
Never to get out.

And thank you for the stupid faces you make when you want to cheer me up,
When my eyes are leaky faucets,
You somehow always manage to be the plumber,
Because when my faucets go
drip, drip, drip,
You listen to every problem,
And screw the bolts that need to be to keep me sane.

Maybe, I know how to describe this feeling.
Maybe, just maybe, this is finally budding love,
And I know this tree may just be cut down, and turn into paper one day for all to see,
But I’d rather try, and try,

And maybe this tree will grow old with cherry blossoms, and grow all the way to the sky.

What do you think of life?

By: Shaira betita
Life is not to steal another
person's life,
Life is is not to envy another's
person's strife,
Life is not making money,
Life is not being horny,
Life is not making lies,
Life is not pain,
Life is not being cain,
Life is not about deceiving,
Life is not about receiving,
Life can be surprising,
Life can be boring,
Life can be relieving,
Life can be stressing,
Life can be giving,
Life can be loving,
Life is not planned,
life can be sad,
life can be bad,
life can lose a dad,
but life is not to brag,
under a grave had dug,
life can decide,
life can console,
life is to decide,
fate or destiny,
life can control,
Big, You ask? You are tiny,
compared to life,
but life can call,
balance is life,
life is for balance,
after all...
life can control,
Big, You ask? You are tiny,
compared to life,
but life can call,
balance is life,
life is for balance,
once and for all....
life can naturally control,
me, them, they, us, and you,
life can control...
but life can also console,
every breathe,
morning or dawn,
or by name of shawn,
Life can lead,
Life can mislead,
depends on you,
depends on who?,
life depends on you,
make fortunes,
make misfortunes,
you are just a fabric,
IN A LABYRINTH,
life made everything,
depends on a thing,
to choose,
better or worse,
life can lead,
life can mislead,
but life despise wishes,
life be rather giving fishes,
greed, lust, and seed,
life does not pay heed,
power, revolt, godlike,
life sees you nothing,
life gives what you need,
life still sees you childish,
life lets you earn strife,
life is not a knife,
life is random,
life is home,
life you enjoy,
for better or worse,
life is to persuade,
feelings of kindness,
feelings of gratitude,
feelings of goodness,
life balances all,
life can call,
life can control,
after all,
life is the wisest,
amongst all,
but we call to life?
Because we choose fun
After all…
There is no end to life,
Life is always continuous,

After all...
It was mid October when Mark wanted to ask the dreadful question of Bella accompanying him to the fall dance. Marc had a hair-raising feeling but the brave young man continued because of his highly determine mindset. He relentlessly asked Bella to go on a walk by the town Lake. Prior encounters lead Bella to believe that Marc was interested in her so she knew where the conversation was going. That night the lake had a bone chilling effect that hunted the two for the duration of their late night stroll. As the two walked along the lake a petrifying Howl startled them. The clamor cause the wandering to to quickly turn around and the shadow rapidly moved into the bushes. Both of their bodies pumping with adrenaline they knew they weren't alone. From the Bush sprinted a colossal beast standing 15 feet tall with a face ugly enough to upset the stomach. Having fangs as sharp as daggers with foam that builds up along the corners of its mouth, the creature let out a loud screeching noise that could be heard from miles away. Marc and Bella began to scurry towards the car as the her horrendous  creature followed. Trembling in terror Marc drop the keys accidentally. Bella as horrified as ever turned around to distinguish the distance between her and the demon wasn't the best idea she ever had. Slowing down to turn, the monster picked her up digging his talents into her fragile body lead to the awakening of Bella in cold sweats!
