Emerald Necklace

Emerald Necklace

Gardens along Fenway

The vital garden has transformed
into a cemetery of wintry colors
vines and plants once juniper
now thin and brittle to the touch,
concentration camps of the past.
Thick wood and chairs disguised
weathered and worn
like glass massaged by salty waves.
decorated with treasures
garden plots resemble graves,
pharaoh tombs in downtown Boston,
wild birds speckled among golden straw
on fire with winter sun.
